The Sindy Blues

I’ve got the Sindy blues
I have lost her kitten heel shoes
They are one of a kind, a really good find
What am I going to do?

I’ve got the Sindy blues
Outbid again on the trendy trews
A sniper attack, will I ever go back?
What am I going to do?

I’ve got the Sindy blues
She’s just not my usual muse
My stabby just broke and her hair is a joke
What am I going to do?

I’ve got the Sindy blues
My active is starting to fuse
Melting legs are all stuck, just my bad luck
What am I going to do?

I’ve got the Sindy blues
I‘m waiting for some good news
So I sell all my junk to get out of the funk
And The Sindy’s have gotta go too!

I had the Sindy blues
But I’ve found those darn missing shoes
They were under the bed with a spare stabby head
What am I going to do?

Now I got the Ebay blues
They were selling in three’s and two’s
I regret they’re all gone and I know I did wrong
I’ve got the Sindy blues

For Flossy ….Don’t do it!

Avatars - Names On Pictures

I love making the little images on the forum called Avatars.

I started doing this on my original board and I adored the responses I got from happy posters about their avatar pictures. Many of you liked that I personalised these cute pictures of Sindy with your names. I love that after a while it spawned a bit of a craze on other boards on the web too.

New posters wanting a personalised avatar can have one either from an image that they send me or an image I choose at random. Of course a few things have to be kept in mind when you send me a piccie because I am precious about these little works of art.

The image must be a good one. No out of focus, blurry image that are tiny, a good idea to send me a few pix. Also only of Sindy not other dolls, Sindy of any era is fine. If you borrow the image {ebay} that's okay with me but if the copyright owner wants me to remove it I have to.
The name I pop on is the owners name, and I can match the Avatar name with the user-name but I won't pop on silly long names like dollydogstink and all that, I will pop on Emma Or Lynsey etc. A tiny space is all I have.

Also, please select your pic/pics carefully cause I don't want to change posters avatars on a regular basis cause it takes time for me to make them and it confuses posters anyway. Lastly patience, I do them asap cause I really love making them for everyone but sometimes I don't log on for periods of time cause of work & family etc. I will make a few at a time and pop them up for regular posters and I don't mind a reminder via my email. Oh yeah, and I love it when I get told that you like em!

Happy Posting.

Sindys Back in Woolies Folks

Hi All

Well our girl is back in Woolies, on the toy shelves where she belongs. Well at least the 2006 pedigree version but the little lady does not disappoint in many ways. She's cute, she has a larger round head and smaller slim body, an essence of the pedigree girl of old even though she is a completely new doll. The downside being though is they have gone down the so many times tested and failed route yet again of Sindy only being a platinum blonde, only Sindy friends get the luxury of having much more classier darker hair shades and of course having to be of ethnic origin. Not sure Sindy designers of today know really how to get it completely right as they say they want her to represent real life young girls. How many groups of real life girlfriends do we see were there is the 1 blonde and all the rest of her friends are dark haired and of ethnic origin.

Bomb Scare Sindy

Hi everyone,
I told this true story about 4 years ago originally on the Yahoo Sindy group when I first started to collect.
I have never shared it on here so thought I might as well! Ok here goes.

In 1982 we were on our way home from a short break staying with relatives in Scotland when my Dad's car broke down on the Forth Road bridge! By then we had already been travelling for almost 6 hours. So we had to leave the car in Edinburgh & take a train home. Luckily we live in Darlington, which is on the main line from Edinburgh to London, so no changing at stations. As we waited for the train to arrive, I was sat on a bench with my Sindy dolls in their case, wrapped in a black bin liner. Don't ask me why. It was my Mum's idea. Maybe so they weren't pinched?

Well the train arrived, we hopped on & you guessed it, I left my Sindy's in the station. I was inconsolable all the way home, they went everywhere with me & had travelled the World! When we finally arrived home shortly after midnight, my Mum phoned the station immediately The operator told my Mum they were in a state of emergency as a suspicious package had been found! The bomb squad had been called & they were dealing with it.

Well you know what happened don't you! The package was my Sindy dolls!
Luckily they did see the funny side & I was photographed in my local paper with all 5 dolls a few days later!! I bet they wouldn't take it so lighthearted nowadays!
Hope you all liked that!

The 99p Sindy

I don't have much money, but hey,
A 99p Sindy that I won on Ebay
Arrived in the post
And cheered up my day

Though she was cheap
She's all mine to keep
And to me she's real cute
Even with a chewed foot

Scrubbed her up clean
Dressed her up smart
Now she's fit to be seen
And a real sweetheart.

Poem - For Pedigree

O pedigree what have you done?
Removed real lashes from the perfect one!
Replacing her pout with a smirk was a sin
Then licensed off to the bargain bin

Poem - No Room At The Inn

It started in the kitchen - a few dolls here and there;
Washing each one lovingly and conditioning frizzy hair.
It spread into the sitting room, their numbers multiplied fast,
At my constant trips to boot sales my husband was aghast!

The photo gallery is a really powerful part of this site. It allows every member to put their favourite pictures in their own albums, and also allows shared albums that any member can post into for things like competitions. Here are some tips on how to use this great feature.

I wished to be in Sindy’s world.
Exciting, colourful and lots of fun.

Writing An Article - A Guide

I hope that all members will consider writing an article for the Collective. You can write about anything that you think would be of interest to the other members. Your Bio, how you made your one of a kind Sindy, your best buy story, or even a fiction story involving your Sindy; all these would be great subjects.

This article is to give you some pointers in the best way to get it looking good, and how to make sure that the format fits the rest of the site.
